Electric Power Control System: Precaution: Precaution

  1. NOTICE FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE (-) BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

    After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    WAITING TIME BEFORE DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE (-) BATTERY TERMINAL

    Condition Waiting Time
    Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes
    Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
  2. NOTICE FOR INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following systems after the cable is reconnected.

    Rear Door Sunshade System
    Power Trunk Lid System
  3. PRECAUTION FOR ELECTRIC POWER CONTROL SYSTEM 
    1. If a load control linked system does not operate due to a problem in the electric power control system, use the Techstream to check for electric power control system DTCs, and write them down. Or, check the Data List's load control history and write down the information.
  4. PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. When using the Techstream with the engine switch on (IG):

      After all DTCs are cleared, check if the trouble occurs again 6 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).
