Skid Control Ecu: Installation: Installation

NOTE:

While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

  1. INSTALL SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET 
    1. Install the bracket with the bolt and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

  2. CONNECT BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR 
    1. Install the brake fluid reservoir with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

  3. CONNECT NO. 3 RELAY BLOCK  See step  17
  4. INSTALL SKID CONTROL ECU 
    1. Connect the 2 connectors (labeled A) and press the lock levers down to lock the connectors (labeled B).

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the lock levers securely lock the connectors.

    2. Connect the connector.
    3. Install the ECU with the 2 bolts and nut.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

    4. Connect the short connector for the brake stroke simulator cylinder to the bracket of the skid control ECU.
  5. CONNECT NO. 1 MOTOR COOLING PIPE 
    1. Connect the No. 1 motor cooling pipe with the bolt.

      Torque: 13 N*m (133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf) 

  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  7. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 15
  8. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  9. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC 
    1. Check and clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
  10. PERFORM LINEAR VALVE OFFSET LEARNING 
    1. When the skid control ECU is replaced, perform the linear valve offset learning. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
  11. PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 
    1. Perform the yaw rate sensor zero point calibration. Refer to CALIBRATION .
  12. PERFORM TEST MODE INSPECTION 
    1. Perform the test mode inspection. Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE .
  13. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 91
  14. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 96
