Pattern Select Switch Eco Mode Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK) See step   2 

    B → See step   12 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK) See step   3 

    B → GO TO DTC CHART 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (INDICAT. ECO MODE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test / Indicat. ECO Mode.
    4. Perform the "Indicat. ECO MODE" Active Test.

      OK

      The ECO MODE indicator lamp comes on or blinks.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    NG → See step   13 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ECO MODE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / ECO Mode.
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      ECO Mode ECO mode transition availability/
      ON or OFF
      In ECO mode: ON

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The Techstream display changes according to the mode switch (ECO mode) operation. A

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ECO SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioning / Data List / ECO Switch.
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      ECO Switch Mode switch (ECO mode) condition/
      ON or OFF
      Mode switch being turned and held at ECO position: ON
      Mode switch not turned: OFF

      Result

      Result Proceed to

  6. CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (ECO MODE / NORMAL MODE) 
    1. Remove the combination switch assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H72-5 (ECO) - H72-13 (E) Mode switch being turned and held at ECO position Below 1 Ω
      Mode switch not turned 10 kΩ or higher
      H72-4 (NORM) - H72-14 (E) Mode switch being pushed and held Below 1 Ω
      Mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Combination Switch Assembly)
    3. Install the combination switch assembly.

    NG → See step   10 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect connector H85 from the air conditioning amplifier assembly.
    2. Disconnect connector H72 from the combination switch assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H85-15 (ECON) - H72-5 (ECO) Always Below 1 Ω
      H85-15 (ECON) or H72-5 (ECO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H85-35 (SG-4) - H72-13 (E) Always Below 1 Ω

      (to Combination Switch Assembly)
    4. Connect the combination switch assembly connector.
    5. Connect the air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) See step   7 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect connector A60 from the ECM.
    2. Disconnect connector H72 from the combination switch assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A60-30 (NE01) - H72-4 (NORM) Always Below 1 Ω
      A60-30 (NE01) or H72-4 (NORM) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to Combination Switch Assembly)
    4. Connect the combination switch assembly connector.
    5. Connect the ECM connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   14 

  10. REPLACE COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  11. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 
  12. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  13. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  14. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS
