Steering Lock System: Precaution: Precaution

NOTICE FOR INITIALIZATION:

NOTE:

When disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal, initialize the following systems after the cable is reconnected.

Variable Gear Ratio Steering System	Refer to INITIALIZATION
Theft Deterrent System	Refer to INITIALIZATION
Intuitive Parking Assist System	Refer to INITIALIZATION

PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK
1. After replacing the steering lock actuator assembly, perform the code registration. Refer to REGISTRATION .
2. If the steering lock actuator assembly is replaced, open and close the driver's door. The engine may not start until either operation is performed.
  HINT:
  
  Performing the above operation causes the steering lock actuator assembly to memorize the correct steering lock bar position.
3. If checking for push button start function DTCs or checking the data list with the engine switch off, make sure that the driver's door is open.
  HINT:
  
  When the engine switch is off, the body ECU to which the Techstream is to be connected may not be working. Communication with the Techstream is impossible if the body ECU is not working.
