Steering Angle Sensor: Removal: Removal
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION .
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:w/ Navigation System for HDD:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD NOTE:
When reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal after installing the steering sensor, check that the front tires and steering wheel are kept aligned straight ahead before and after connecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
- REMOVE STEERING PAD . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Lower Side) . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Upper Side) . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 10
- REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 10
- REMOVE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
- Disengage the 6 claws and remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable.
