Steering Angle Sensor: Removal: Removal

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION .

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

  3. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
    NOTE:

    When reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal after installing the steering sensor, check that the front tires and steering wheel are kept aligned straight ahead before and after connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.

  4. REMOVE NO. 3 LOWER STEERING WHEEL COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  5. REMOVE NO. 2 LOWER STEERING WHEEL COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  6. REMOVE STEERING PAD  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  8. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 12
  9. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  10. REMOVE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    1. Disengage the 6 claws and remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable sub-assembly with steering angle sensor.
