Throttle Body: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose and No. 5 water by-pass hose to the throttle body assembly.

      NOTE:

      Position the claws of the clamps as shown in the illustration.

    2. Set the throttle body assembly and new gasket with the 2 stud bolts.

    3. Using a "TORX" socket E6, tighten the 2 stud bolts.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf) 

    4. Install the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose with the hose clamp.

    6. Connect the No. 5 water by-pass hose with the hose clamp.

    7. Connect the throttle body connector.

  2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose and lock the 2 clamps.

      HINT: 

      Tightening torque for the hose clamp located between the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and air cleaner hose assembly is as follows.

      Torque: 4.0 N*m (41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the air cleaner hose to the throttle body with the hose clamp.

      Torque: 4.0 N*m (41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the 2 ventilation hoses with the 2 hose clamps.

    4. Connect the mass air flow meter connector and wire harness clamp.

  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 4
  4. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK  . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1
  5. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 95
  6. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:

    Be sure to perform this procedure after replacing the ECM or throttle body or cleaning the throttle valve.

    1. Disconnect the cable from negative battery terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the cable to negative battery terminal.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) without operating the accelerator pedal.
      NOTE:

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

      standard

      Condition Engine Idle Speed
      A/C switched off 700 to 800 rpm
      NOTE:
      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
      • Make sure that the shift lever is in N.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain/ Engine and ECT/ Data List/ Throttle Pos. Sensor Output. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.
    6. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
