Camshaft Timing Control Motor: Removal: Removal
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
HINT:
Disconnect the cable from the from the negative (-) battery terminal so that the maximum retard angle of the cam timing control with EDU motor assembly will be learned.
- REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL WITH EDU MOTOR LH ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the engine wire clamp.
- Disconnect the 2 connectors from the camshaft timing control with EDU motor and engine wire clamp.
- Remove the 3 bolts and the camshaft timing control with EDU motor LH assembly.
- Remove the O-ring from the timing chain cover.
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY See step 4
- REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL WITH EDU MOTOR RH ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the 2 connectors from the camshaft timing control with EDU motor and engine wire clamp.
- Remove the bolt and engine wire bracket.
- Remove the 3 bolts and camshaft timing control motor.
- Remove the O-ring from the timing chain cover.
