Rear Speed Sensor: Removal: Removal

NOTE:

While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

HINT: 



  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

    NOTE:
    • w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

      After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Condition Waiting Time
      Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes
      Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  4. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  5. REMOVE ROPE HOOK  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  6. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  7. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7
  8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO. 1 LIGHT ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  9. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO. 2 TRIM HOOK (w/o Rear Cooler)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
  10. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Rear Cooler)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 15
  11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  12. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 12
  13. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 13
  14. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 14
  15. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
  16. REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 
    1. for RH:
      1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

    2. for LH:
      1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

      2. Detach the skid control sensor wire.
      3. Remove the nut and No. 1 skid control sensor clamp from the body.
    3. Disconnect the grommet of the speed sensor wire from the hole of the wheel house.

    4. Except for coil spring type suspension:

      1. Disconnect the rear height control sensor connector (labeled A).
      2. Remove the nut (labeled B) and sensor clamp (labeled C).
    5. Remove the nut and sensor clamp.
    6. Disconnect the pad wear indicator connector.

    7. Remove the bolt and sensor clamp.
    8. Disconnect the connector from the rear speed sensor.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.
      • Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.
  17. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR 
    1. Remove the bolt and sensor.

      NOTE:
      • The rear speed sensor is easily damaged. When pulling out the rear speed sensor from the rear axle hub RH, do not use excessive force to rotate and remove it.
      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
      • Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped, replace the sensor with a new one.
