Ignition Coil And Spark Plug: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL SPARK PLUG

    1. Using a 16 mm plug wrench, install the 8 spark plugs.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

  2. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

    1. Perform a visual inspection of the spark plug tube gasket.

      Standard

      Area Specified condition
      Upper surface No scratches or deformation
      Outer lip No scratches or deformation
      Inner lip No scratches

      If the result is not as specified, replace the spark plug tube gasket.

    2. Slide the spark plug tube gasket onto the ignition coil as shown in the illustration.

    3. After installing the spark plug tube gasket, firmly insert the ignition coil as shown in the illustration.

    4. Install the 8 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Connect the 8 ignition coil connectors.
  3. INSTALL NO. 6 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 
    1. Install the No. 6 engine cover with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)

  4. INSTALL NO. 5 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 
    1. Install the No. 5 engine cover with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)

  5. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE (for AWD)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 61
  6. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Install the engine wire to the No. 1 relay block with the nut.

      Torque: 13 N*m (127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the 2 clamps.
    3. Install the No. 1 relay block cover.
  7. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY 
    1. Install the battery tray with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 47 in.*lbf) 

  8. INSTALL BATTERY 
    1. Install the battery.
    2. Install the battery insulator.
    3. Install the battery clamp with the nut.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 47 in.*lbf) 

    4. Connect the battery cable clamp.
    5. Connect the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 47 in.*lbf) 

  9. INSTALL SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  10. INSTALL SKID CONTROL ECU  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  11. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 7
  12. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 6
  13. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  14. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 3
  15. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 102
  16. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 103
  17. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 7
  18. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 8
  19. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  20. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 11
