Skid Control Buzzer: Removal: Removal

NOTE:

While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:
    • w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

      After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes
      Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
  3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
  6. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
  7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  10. REMOVE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    If the buzzer connector is disconnected with the buzzer installed to the vehicle, the clamp of the buzzer may be damaged. Make sure to remove the buzzer according to the procedures below.

    1. Detach the clamp and remove the buzzer from the extension panel.

    2. Disconnect the buzzer connector.
