Skid Control Ecu: Removal: Removal

NOTE:

While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  3. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:
    • w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

      After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Condition Waiting Time
      Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes
      Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
  5. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU 
    1. Disconnect the short connector for the brake stroke simulator (labeled A) from the bracket of the skid control ECU.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts (labeled B), nut (labeled C) and ECU.
    3. Pull the 2 lock levers upward to release the locks and disconnect the 2 connectors (labeled D).

    4. Disconnect the connector (labeled E).
  6. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and bracket.
