Steering Wheel: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft assembly.

    2. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      Torque: 50 N*m (510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf) 

  2. INSTALL STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Support the steering pad with one hand as shown in the illustration.

    2. Connect the 2 connectors to the steering pad.
      NOTE:

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    3. Connect the horn connector.
    4. Confirm that the circumference groove of the "TORX" screw fits in the screw case, and place the steering pad onto the steering wheel assembly.
    5. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the 2 "TORX" screws.

      Torque: 8.8 N*m (90 kgf*cm, 78 in.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER 
    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the cover.

  4. INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE 
    1. Attach the claw to install the switch and volume case.

  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  6. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 11
  7. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

  8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Refer to INITIALIZATION

    NOTE:

    Certain systems need to be initialized after reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
