Steering Angle Sensor: Installation: Installation

NOTE:

While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

  1. INSTALL STEERING SENSOR 
    1. Align the pins on the spiral cable with the installation holes on the steering sensor.

    2. Attach the 6 claws and install the steering sensor to the spiral cable.
  2. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  3. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 14
  4. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 15
  5. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  6. INSTALL STEERING PAD  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  7. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 3
  8. INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 9
  9. INSPECT STEERING PAD  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 8
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:
    • Reset the AUTO TILT AWAY function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter. Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS .
    • When reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal after installing the steering sensor, check that the front tires and steering wheel are kept aligned straight ahead before and after connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
  11. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 15
  12. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  13. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .
