Throttle Body: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY 
    1. Install a new gasket to the intake air surge tank assembly.

      *1 Recess
    2. Install the throttle body and wire harness clamp stay to the intake air surge tank assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the throttle body connector and wire harness clamp.

    4. Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses to the throttle body.
  2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE 
    1. Connect the air cleaner hose to the throttle body with the hose clamp.

    2. Connect the ventilation hose.
    3. Insert the tab of the air cleaner assembly into the hole of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Tab
      *2 Hole
    4. Install the air cleaner assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

    5. Install the fuel vapor feed hose to the 2 hose clamps.

    6. Connect the mass air flow meter connector and wire harness clamp.
  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine)  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 8
  4. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK (for Engine)  . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1
  5. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 73
  6. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 75
  7. INSTALL INTAKE AIR RESONATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 76
  8. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 19
  9. INSTALL FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CAP (w/ Air Suspension)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 10
  10. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the windshield wiper motor and link assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  11. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 74
  12. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  13. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:

    Perform the following procedure after replacing the ECM, throttle body assembly or any throttle body components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body is cleaned.

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the cable.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG) without operating the accelerator pedal.
      NOTE:

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    4. Set the vehicle to the "Inspection Mode". Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE .
    5. Start the engine.
    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain/ Engine and ECT / Data List/ Engine Speed.
    7. Check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

      Standard

      Condition Engine Idle Speed
      A/C switched off 850 to 950 rpm
      NOTE:
      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
      • Make sure that the shift lever is in P.
