Front Speed Sensor: Removal: Removal

NOTE: While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or any door courtesy switch is turned on. Therefore, when servicing the brake system components, do not depress the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

HINT: 



  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  2. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System) 
    NOTE: After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  4. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 
  5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER 
    1. Remove the 9 clips, 10 screws, 3 grommets, bolt and front fender liner.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR 
    1. Remove the 2 front speed sensor wire harness clamps and disconnect the front speed sensor connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and No. 2 sensor clamp from the body.

      *1 No. 2 Sensor Clamp
    3. Remove the bolt, No. 1 sensor clamp and front brake flexible hose together from the front shock absorber assembly.

      *1 No. 1 Sensor Clamp
      *2 Front Brake Flexible Hose
    4. Remove the clamp from the front shock absorber assembly.
    5. Remove the bolt and front speed sensor from the steering knuckle.

      NOTE:
      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the front speed sensor tip.
      • Clean the front speed sensor installation hole and the contact surfaces every time the front speed sensor is removed.
