Knock Sensor: Removal: Removal

WARNING:

Do not allow fuel to spray when removing the pipe between the high pressure side fuel pump and the fuel injectors. The fuel in the pipe is highly pressurized.

  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  2. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to REMOVAL .
  3. DISCONNECT WATER HOSE JOINT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  4. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  5. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7
  6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  7. REMOVE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
  8. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 10
  9. REMOVE NO. 3 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  10. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 12
  11. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 13
  12. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the 2 knock sensor connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 knock sensors.
