Distance Control Switch Circuit: Procedure
- INSPECT CRUISE DISTANCE SWITCH ASSEMBLY (DISTANCE CONTROL SWITCH)
- Remove the cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch). Refer to REMOVAL .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition J123-3 (CCS) - J123-4 (ECC) Press continuously cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) Below 1 Ω J123-3 (CCS) - J123-4 (ECC) Release cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) 10 kΩ or higher - Reinstall the cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch). Refer to INSTALLATION .

OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CRUISE DISTANCE SWITCH - DISTANCE CONTROL ECU, BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the distance control ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition J123-3 (CCS) - J17-16 (MODE) Always Below 1 Ω J123-3 (CCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher J123-4 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω - Reconnect the distance control ECU connector.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT DISTANCE CONTROL ECU
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition J17-16 (MODE) - Body ground Press continuously cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) 0 to 2 V Release cruise distance switch assembly (distance control switch) 11 to 14 V
