Ignition Coil And Spark Plug: Removal: Removal
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
- REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
- REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY See step 4
- REMOVE BATTERY
- Disconnect the 2 clamps.
- Disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.
- Remove the nut and the battery clamp.
- Remove the battery insulator.
- Remove the battery.
- REMOVE NO. 1 BATTERY TRAY SUPPORT
- REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
- REMOVE BATTERY TRAY
- Remove the 3 bolts and battery tray.
- REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
- Remove the 2 bolts and nut and separate the No. 7 engine room relay block.
- Remove the bolt and separate the wire harness clamp bracket.
- Separate the wire harness clamp from the wire harness clamp bracket.
- REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the 8 ignition coil connectors.
- Remove the 8 bolts and 8 ignition coils.
NOTE:
Do not damage the ignition coils when removing them.
- REMOVE SPARK PLUG
- Using a 16 mm plug wrench, remove the 8 spark plugs.
