Front Speed Sensor: Removal: Removal
HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
- If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the front axle hub sub-assembly with front speed sensor.
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
- DISCONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR WIRE
- Disconnect the front speed sensor wire from the front speed sensor.
- SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
- REMOVE FRONT DISC . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7
- REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT SPEED SENSOR . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
- REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR
- Install 3 hub nuts to the hub bolts. Hold the front axle hub sub-assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.NOTE:
Replace the hub and bearing assembly if it is dropped or receives a strong shock.
- Using SST, remove the front speed sensor from the front axle hub sub-assembly.

NOTE:- Keep the sensor away from magnets.
- Pull the front speed sensor off straight, taking care not to make contact with the speed sensor rotor.
- If the speed sensor rotor is damaged or deformed, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.
- Do not scratch the area where the speed sensor contacts the front axle hub sub-assembly.
- Do not allow foreign matter to attach to the speed sensor rotor.
- Install 3 hub nuts to the hub bolts. Hold the front axle hub sub-assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.
