Front Speed Sensor: Removal: Removal

NOTE:

While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

HINT: 

  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

    NOTE:
    • w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

      After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Condition Waiting Time
      Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes
      Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
  4. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 
  5. REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the front fender liner so that the skid control sensor wire connector can be disconnected.

    2. Disconnect the sensor connector.
    3. Detach the 2 sensor clips.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 sensor clamps.

    5. Disconnect the pad wear indicator connector.

    6. Disconnect the connector from the front speed sensor.
    7. Remove the bolt and sensor clamp.
  6. REMOVE FRONT SPEED SENSOR RH 
    1. Remove the bolt and sensor.

      NOTE:
      • The speed sensor is easily damaged.

        When pulling out the speed sensor from the axle hub, do not use excessive force to rotate and remove it.

      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
      • Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped, replace the sensor with a new one.
