Engine Control System (Service Information): ECM: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL ECM 
    1. Set the ECM in the engine room ECM box.
    2. Install the engine room ECM cover with the 3 claws.

    3. Install the No. 1 ECM bracket and No. 2 ECM bracket with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 4.5 N*m (46 kgf*cm, 40 in.*lbf) 

    4. Install the wire harness clamp bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 8.4 N*m (86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf) 

    5. Install the ECM with bracket with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 19 N*m (193 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

    6. Install the cooler pipe with the bolt.

      Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) 

    7. Connect the 2 ECM connectors and lower the 2 levers.

      NOTE:
      • When connecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not become stuck between the connectors and other parts.
      • Make sure that the 2 levers are securely locked.
    8. Install the 2 wire harness clamps.

  2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  3. INSTALL REAR DECK FLOOR BOX  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 69
  4. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 126
  5. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 127
  6. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 128
  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    HINT: 

    Initialization cannot be completed by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable of the negative (-) battery terminal.

    1. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) must be input into a replacement ECM. Refer to REGISTRATION .
    2. Perform Initialization when replacing the ECM See step  13.
