DTC P0607: Control Module Performance: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
5. Read the DTCs.
   RESULT
   
   

   Result	Proceed to
   DTC P0607 and P0136, P0137 or P0138 are output	A
   DTC P0607 is output	B

1. Refer to the P0136, P0137 or P0138 flowchart.

   HINT: 

   • If P0136 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to DTC P0136: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0137: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0138: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0139: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P013A: Oxygen Sensor Slow Response - Rich to Lean Bank 1 Sensor 2 . Then proceed to "Inspect ECM".
   • If P0137 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to DTC P0136: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0137: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0138: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0139: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P013A: Oxygen Sensor Slow Response - Rich to Lean Bank 1 Sensor 2 . Then proceed to "Inspect ECM".
   • If P0138 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to DTC P0136: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0137: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0138: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0139: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P013A: Oxygen Sensor Slow Response - Rich to Lean Bank 1 Sensor 2 . Then proceed to "Inspect ECM".
   • If DTC P0607 and P0136, P0137 or P0138 are output, the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor may remain close to 0 V or become high (around 1 V or higher).

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode). Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [06/2012 - ] .
5. Start the engine.
6. Allow the engine to idle, and then rev the engine.
7. Check for exhaust gas leaks around the heated oxygen sensor.

   If any exhaust gas leaks are present, repair them and proceed to "Perform Confirmation Driving Pattern". If no exhaust gas leaks are present, proceed to "Perform Confirmation Driving Pattern".

   HINT: 

   • If no exhaust gas leaks are present, there may be a malfunction in the heated oxygen sensor circuit.
   • If any exhaust gas leaks are present around the heated oxygen sensor, noise appears in the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor.
   • Perform "Inspection After Repair" after repairing or replacing the exhaust system. Refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2012 - ] .

1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2012 - ] .
2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
4. Turn the Techstream on.
5. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode). Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [06/2012 - ] .
6. Start the engine.
7. Warm up the engine until the engine coolant temperature is 75°C (167°F) or higher.
8. Perform the driving pattern.
   WARNING:

   When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.

   1. Accelerate the vehicle to 80 km/h (50 mph) and stop the vehicle.
   2. Drive the vehicle between 60 and 80 km/h (37 and 50 mph) for 5 minutes.
9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
10. Read the DTCs.

Then proceed to "Inspect ECM".
   • If DTC P0607 and P0136, P0137 or P0138 are output, the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor may remain close to 0 V or become high (around 1 V or higher).

2. Stop the engine and wait for 30 minutes.
3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
4. Turn the power switch on (IG).
5. Turn the Techstream on.
6. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode). Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [06/2012 - ] .
7. Start the engine and allow it to idle for 2 minutes.
8. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
9. Read the DTCs.
