Power Windows cannot be Operated with All Window Switch: Procedure

  1. CHECK MANUAL UP / DOWN FUNCTION 
    1. Check that the manual up and down function using the power window regulator master switch assembly and power window regulator switch assembly can operate all the power windows. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2012 - ] .

      OK

      Manual up and down function is normal.

    NG → See step   15 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK REMOTE UP / DOWN FUNCTION 
    1. Check that the remote up and down function using the power window regulator master switch assembly operates the power windows. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2012 - ] .

      OK

      Remote up and down function is normal.

    NG → See step   15 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK ALL POWER WINDOW OPERATION 
    1. Check the operation of the manual function of the all window switch.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only all power window manual operation does not function A
      Only all power window auto down operation does not function B
      Both all power window manual operation and auto down operation do not function C

  4. CHECK ALL POWER WINDOW OPERATION (MANUAL OPERATION) 
    1. Check the operation of the manual function of the all window switch.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      None of the power windows operate with all power window manual up operation A
      None of the power windows operate with all power window manual down operation B
      Only driver door window does not operate with all power window manual up operation or all power window auto down operation C
      Only front passenger door window does not operate with all power window manual up operation or all power window manual down operation D
      Only one or both of the quarter windows do not operate with all power window manual up operation or all power window manual down operation E

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ALL WINDOW SWITCH (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      RETRACTABLE HARDTOP (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY)

      All Windows Up SW/Manual All window switch manual up signal/ON or OFF ON: UP switch pulled up

  6. INSPECT ALL WINDOW SWITCH (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the all window switch (sliding roof switch assembly). Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      7 (UP) - 6 (E) UP switch pulled up Below 50 Ω
      7 (UP) - 6 (E) UP switch not pulled up 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   19 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ALL WINDOW SWITCH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the sliding roof control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J109-7 (UP) - Q35-21 (WUP) Always Below 1 Ω
      J109-7 (UP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   18 

  8. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ALL WINDOW SWITCH (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      RETRACTABLE HARDTOP (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY)

  9. INSPECT ALL WINDOW SWITCH (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the all window switch (sliding roof switch assembly). Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      8 (DOWN) - 6 (E) DOWN switch pressed halfway down Below 50 Ω
      8 (DOWN) - 6 (E) DOWN switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      If the result is not as specified, replace the sliding roof switch assembly.

    NG → See step   19 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ALL WINDOW SWITCH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the sliding roof control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J109-8 (DOWN) - Q35-20 (WDN) Always Below 1 Ω
      J109-8 (DOWN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   18 

  11. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ALL WINDOW SWITCH (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

  12. INSPECT ALL WINDOW SWITCH (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the sliding roof switch assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      4 (AUTO) - 6 (E) DOWN switch pressed down Below 50 Ω
      4 (AUTO) - 6 (E) DOWN switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      If the result is not as specified, replace the sliding roof switch assembly.

    NG → See step   19 

    OK: Go to next step 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ALL WINDOW SWITCH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the sliding roof control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J109-4 (AUTO) - P53-23 (WADN) Always Below 1 Ω
      J109-4 (AUTO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   18 

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ALL WINDOW SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the all window switch (sliding roof switch assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J109-6 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   19 

  15. GO TO OTHER PROBLEM (Proceed to Problem Symptoms Table). Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2012 - ]  
  16. REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] 
  17. REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] 
  18. REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] 
  19. REPLACE ALL WINDOW SWITCH (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ]
