Confirmation Driving Pattern

  1. Stop the engine for 30 minutes or more [A].
  2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
  3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on [B].
  4. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure). Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [09/2013 - ] .
  5. Turn the power switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
  6. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on [C].
  7. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode). Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [09/2013 - ] .
  8. Start the engine, and wait 2 minutes [D].
  9. Warm up the engine until the engine coolant temperature is 75°C (167°F) or more [E].
  10. Idle the engine for 1 minute [F].
  11. Accelerate the vehicle to 80 km/h (50 mph) and stop the vehicle [G].
    WARNING: When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.
  12. Drive the vehicle at 56 to 80 km/h (35 to 50 mph) for 5 minutes or more [H].
    WARNING: When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.
  13. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
  14. Read the DTCs [I].

    HINT: 

    • If a DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
    • If a DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
  15. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.
  16. Input the DTC: P0607, P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158.
  17. Check the DTC judgment result.
    Techstream Display Description
    NORMAL
    • DTC judgment completed
    • System normal
    ABNORMAL
    • DTC judgment completed
    • System abnormal
    INCOMPLETE
    • DTC judgment not completed
    • Perform driving pattern after confirming DTC enabling conditions
    N/A
    • Unable to perform DTC judgment
    • Number of DTCs which do not fulfill DTC preconditions has reached ECU's memory limit

    HINT: 

    • If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
    • If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
    • If the judgment result shows INCOMPLETE or N/A, perform steps [E] through [I] again.
  18. If no DTC is output, perform a universal trip and check for permanent DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [09/2013 - ] .

    HINT: 

    • If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
    • If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.
