Installation [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install a new gasket to the intake manifold.

      HINT: 

      Align the protrusion of the gasket with the groove on the intake manifold.

    2. Connect the No. 4 and No. 5 water by-pass hoses to the throttle body assembly.

      NOTE:
      • Position the claws of the clamps as shown in the illustration.
      • Install the clamps so that they are within the hose's paint marks.
    3. Install the throttle body assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repairs" after replacing the throttle body assembly (Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - ] ).

    4. Connect the throttle motor connector.
  2. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 
    1. Align the holes with the connection areas labeled A, and attach the No. 1 air cleaner inlet.

    2. Install the No. 1 air cleaner inlet with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf) 

  4. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  5. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:

    Perform the following procedure after replacing the ECM, throttle body assembly or any throttle body components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body is cleaned.

    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) without operating the accelerator pedal.
      NOTE:

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2015 - ] ).
    3. Perform the "Inspection After Repairs" (Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - ] ).
    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off.

      Standard

      Condition Engine Idle Speed
      A/C switched off 700 to 800 rpm
      NOTE:
      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
      • Make sure that the shift lever is in neutral.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / All Data / Throttle Sensor Position. Sensor Output. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.
    6. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 4 clips labeled B.

      NOTE:
      • Make sure the clips are attached securely.
      • Attaching the clips forcefully or hitting the top of the clips may damage them.
    2. Install the air cleaner inlet cover sub-assembly with the 5 clips labeled A.
  8. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the cover from the vehicle front toward the rear of the vehicle to attach the 2 clips labeled A, and then attach the 4 clips labeled B to install the V-bank cover sub-assembly.

      NOTE:
      • Make sure the clips are attached securely.
      • Attaching the clips forcefully or hitting the top of the clips may damage them.
      • When attaching the clips labeled A, be sure to slide the cover from the front of the vehicle toward the rear of the vehicle.
  9. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  10. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  11. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16
