Removal [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [07/2015 - ] ).

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [07/2015 - ] ).

  3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
  4. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  6. REMOVE REAR DISC 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  7. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector from the rear speed sensor.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the rear speed sensor.

  8. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 ).

      HINT: 

      • The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the rear speed sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
      • If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
