How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    Result

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the battery voltage with the engine switch off.

      Standard voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

      Result

      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    CHARGE OR REPLACE BATTERY 

    Result:  1

    OK

  3. INSPECT MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY* 
    1. Adjust the reflector height (Refer to ADJUSTMENT [07/2015 - ] ).
    2. Place the reflector (Refer to ADJUSTMENT [07/2015 - ] ).
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Utility / Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading.
    7. Check the amount of misalignment and make a note.
    8. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision 2 / Utility / Front Beam Axis Offset Reading.
    9. Check the amount of offset and make a note.

      Result

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally (Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [07/2015 - 08/2016] Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2016 - ] ).

      Result

      DTC Condition Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC is output B

    Result:  2

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

  5. INSPECT WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the condition of the warning lights on the combination meter assembly.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only the PCS warning light is blinking A
      The PCS warning light is not blinking
      The PCS OFF warning light and other warning lights are illuminated or blinking B

    Result:  2

    GO TO MALFUNCTIONING SYSTEM

  6. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY 
    1. Check if a pre-collision system warning message is displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly.

      Result

      "Pre-collision System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer" is displayed A
      "Pre-collision System Unavailable", "Pre-collision System Unavailable Clean Sensor". "Pre-collision System Unavailable". "Forward Camera Systems Unavailable Clean Windshield" or "Forward Camera Systems Unavailable" is displayed B
      Warning message is not displayed C

    Result:  2

    GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

    CHECK CONDITIONS WHEN PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM DID NOT OPERATE

  7. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ] ).
      1. Record the DTCs.
    2. Clear the DTCs.
    3. Recheck for DTCs.
      1. Attempt to duplicate the malfunction and check if the DTCs are output again (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2015 - ] ).

      Result

      DTC Condition Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B
      No DTCs are output, and malfunction cannot be duplicated or checked C

    Result:  2

    GO TO DTC CHART 

    (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [07/2015 - ] )

    GO TO SYMPTOM SIMULATION
