Installation [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform "Inspection After Repairs" after replacing the throttle body with motor assembly.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 09/2018] or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - ]

    1. Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose to the throttle body with motor assembly, and slide the hose clamp to secure the hose.
    2. Install a new gasket and the throttle body with motor assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the connector to the throttle body with motor assembly.
    4. Connect the No. 5 water by-pass hose to the throttle body with motor assembly, and slide the hose clamp to secure the hose.
  2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE 
    1. Install the air cleaner cap and hose and fasten the 4 hook clamps.
    2. Tighten the hose clamp to secure the air cleaner hsoe.

      Torque: 4.0 N*m (41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose to the air cleaner hose and slide the clip to secure the hose.
    4. Attach the wire harness clamp and connect the connector to the mass air flow meter.
  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  5. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 116

  6. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 117

  7. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 118

  8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to perform this procedure after reassembling the throttle body or removing and reinstalling any throttle body component.
    • Perform the following procedure after replacing the ECM, throttle body or any throttle body components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body is cleaned.
    • Be sure to perform this procedure after replacing the ECM and reconnecting the battery cable.
    1. Disconnect the EFI and ETCS fuses at the same time. Wait at least 60 seconds, and then reconnect the fuses.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) without operating the accelerator pedal.
      NOTE:

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2015 - ]

    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

      Standard idle speed

      600 to 700 rpm

      NOTE:
      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
      • Make sure that the shift position is in neutral.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Throttle Position Sensor No. 1 Voltage %. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.
    6. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
