Installation [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install a new gasket to the intake air surge tank.

      *1 Groove
      *2 Protrusion
      Throttle Body Side
      Intake Air Surge Tank Side

      HINT: 

      Align the protrusion of the gasket on the intake air surge tank.

    2. Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses to the throttle body.
    3. Install the throttle body with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repairs" after replacing the throttle body with motor (See article. Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2014 - ] ).

    4. Connect the throttle body with motor connector.
  2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Install the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose assembly with the 4 clamps and hose clamp.

      Torque: 4.0 N*m (41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf)

      *2 Cutout
      *3 Protrusion
      NOTE:
      • Insert the protrusion on the throttle body side hose into the hole of the hose clamp.
      • Align the bump on the throttle body side with the cutout in the hose.
    2. Connect the VSV hose to the air cleaner hose.
    3. Connect the mass air flow meter connector and clamp to the air cleaner.
  3. CONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE 
    1. Align the paint mark of the No. 2 ventilation hose with the rib of the cylinder head cover RH and connect the hose.

    2. Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover with the clamp.

      HINT: 

      Make sure the direction of the clip is as shown in the illustration.

  4. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 or PROCEDURE - Step 5

  5. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:

    Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle body with motor assembly or any throttle body with motor assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body with motor assembly is cleaned.

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs (See article. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2014 - ] ).
    2. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode) (See article. Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [09/2014 - 10/2015] Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [10/2015 - ] ).
    3. Perform the "Inspection After Repairs" (See article. Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2014 - ] ).
    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off.

      Standard

      Condition Engine Idle Speed
      A/C switched off 950 to 1050 rpm
      NOTE:
      • If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.
      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
      • Make sure that park (P) is selected.
    5. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
  7. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 115 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 114

  8. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 116 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 115

  9. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 117 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 116

  10. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 118 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 117
