Removal [09/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    See step  2

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2017 - ]

  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2017 - 05/2018] or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [05/2018 - ]

  4. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

  5. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  6. SEPARATE NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  7. SEPARATE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  8. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  9. REMOVE SPARK PLUG

    1. Remove the 8 spark plugs from the cylinder head sub-assembly and cylinder head LH.
      NOTE:

      If a spark plug has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      HINT: 

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.
