Removal [03/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2017 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2019 - 01/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [01/2023 - ]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [03/2019 - 01/2023] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [01/2023 - 10/2023] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2023 - ]

  4. SEPARATE FRONT FENDER LINER

    1. Remove the screw and separate the front fender liner.
  5. REMOVE FRONT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Disconnect the pad wear indicator wire connector from the front skid control sensor wire.

      *1 Pad Wear Indicator Wire
      *2 Front Skid Control Sensor Wire
    2. Disconnect the front skid control sensor wire connector from the front axle hub sub-assembly.
    3. Remove the bolt and sensor clamp from the steering knuckle.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 sensor clamps from the front shock absorber assembly and vehicle body.

    5. Turn back the front fender liner.
    6. for LH Side:
      1. Disengage the clamp from the front No. 1 stabilizer bracket LH.

      2. Remove the bolt and sensor clamp from the vehicle body.
      3. Disconnect the connector to remove the front skid control sensor wire LH.
    7. for RH Side:
      1. Disengage the 2 clamps from the front No. 1 stabilizer bracket RH and vehicle body.

      2. Remove the bolt and sensor clamp from the vehicle body.
      3. Disconnect the connector to remove the front skid control sensor wire RH.
  6. SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [03/2019 - 01/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [01/2023 - ]

  7. REMOVE FRONT DISC 

    except Carbon Ceramic Brake: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [09/2014 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [09/2020 - 01/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [01/2023 - ]

    for Carbon Ceramic Brake: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [03/2019 - 01/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [01/2023 - ]

  8. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [03/2019 - 01/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [01/2023 - ]

    HINT: 

    • If the front speed sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.
    • The front speed sensor is a component of the front axle hub sub-assembly. If the front speed sensor is malfunctioning, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.
