Installation [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform "Inspection After Repairs" after replacing the throttle body with motor assembly.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 09/2018] or INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - ]

    1. Install 3 new gaskets to the intake manifold, intercooler assembly and No. 2 air tube.

      HINT: 

      Check that the gasket is securely fitted into the installation groove.

    2. Temporarily install the throttle body with motor assembly and No. 2 air tube to the intake manifold with the 4 bolts labeled B in the illustration.

      Bolt A
      Bolt B
    3. Connect the No. 2 air tube to the intercooler assembly with the 4 bolts labeled A in the sequence shown in the illustration, and then tighten the bolts at the specified torque.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Tighten the bolts at the 4 bolts labeled B.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose and No. 1 water by-pass hose to the throttle body with motor assembly, and then slide the 2 hose clamps to secure the hoses.
    6. Connect the connector to the throttle body with motor assembly.
  2. INSTALL WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Install the water by-pass pipe with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the No. 2 turbo water hose to the No. 1 turbo water by-pass pipe sub-assembly and slide the hose clamp to secure the hose.
    3. Connect the No. 9 water by-pass hose to the water by-pass pipe and slide the hose clamp to secure the hose.
    4. Attach the 4 wire harness clamps to connect the engine wire and No. 2 engine wire to the water by-pass pipe.
  3. CONNECT NO. 2 INTERCOOLER COOLING WATER HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 2 intercooler cooling water hose to the water by-pass pipe and slide the hose clamp to secure the hose.
  4. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    NOTE:

    The tightening torque of the bolt varies according to the symbol on its head.

    *A for Type A
    *B for Type A
    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket with the 2 bolts.

      for Type A 

      Torque: 8.4 N*m (86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf) 

      for Type B 

      Torque: 9.5 N*m (97 kgf*cm, 84 in.*lbf) 

    2. Attach the clamp and connect the No. 3 engine wire to the wire harness clamp bracket with the bolt.

      for Type A 

      Torque: 8.4 N*m (86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf) 

      for Type B 

      Torque: 9.5 N*m (97 kgf*cm, 84 in.*lbf) 

  5. INSTALL INTERCOOLER RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the intercooler reservoir assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 12.5 N*m (127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Attach the clamp to connect the fuel hose assembly to the intercooler reservoir assembly.
    3. Attach the clamp to connect the No. 4 intercooler cooling water hose to the body.
    4. Connect the No. 4 intercooler cooling water hose to the electric water pump assembly and slide the hose clamp to secure the hose.
  6. INSTALL NO. 3 INTERCOOLER COOLING WATER HOSE 
    1. Install the No. 3 intercooler cooling water hose and slide the 2 hose clamps to secure the hose.
  7. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY 
    1. Install the battery tray with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

  8. INSTALL POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2014 - ]

  9. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2015 - ]

  10. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  11. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for Intercooler) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  12. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  13. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Intercooler) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]
