Removal [12/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [10/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [12/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [09/2018 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [10/2023 - ]

  5. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Intake Side of Bank 1) 
    1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and VVT sensor.
      NOTE:

      If the VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. When reusing the VVT sensor:

      1. Remove the O-ring from the VVT sensor.
        NOTE:
        • Make sure to only remove the O-ring with bare hands.
        • When removing the O-ring, be careful not to damage the O-ring groove of the VVT sensor.
        • If the O-ring groove is damaged, replace the VVT sensor.
  6. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1) 
    1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and VVT sensor.
      NOTE:

      If the VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. When reusing the VVT sensor:

      1. Remove the O-ring from the VVT sensor.
        NOTE:
        • Make sure to only remove the O-ring with bare hands.
        • When removing the O-ring, be careful not to damage the O-ring groove of the VVT sensor.
        • If the O-ring groove is damaged, replace the VVT sensor.
  7. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Intake Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and VVT sensor.
      NOTE:

      If the VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. When reusing the VVT sensor:

      1. Remove the O-ring from the VVT sensor.
        NOTE:
        • Make sure to only remove the O-ring with bare hands.

  8. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2)

    2. Remove the bolt and VVT sensor.
      NOTE:
