On-Vehicle Inspection [09/2014 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR WITH EDU ASSEMBLY
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Start the engine and warm it up.
- Inspect the camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly LH.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank1).
Powertrain > Engine > Active Test
Tester Display Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank1) - Check the output angle of the VVT (VVT Target Angle #1 and VVT Change Angle #1) displayed on the Techstream.
- Perform the Active Test with the engine speed at 1500 rpm.
Specified Condition
Active Test Movement Order Difference between "VVT Target Angle" and "VVT Change Angle" 0 deg → 10 deg → 20 deg → 40 deg → 10 deg → 0 deg → 10 deg → END Within 5 DegFR If the result is not as specified, inspect the camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly LH and camshaft timing gear assembly.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank1).
- Inspect the camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly RH.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank2).
Powertrain > Engine > Active Test
Tester Display Control the VVT-iE Linear (Bank2) - Check the output angle of the VVT (VVT Target Angle #2 and VVT Change Angle #2) displayed on the Techstream.
- Perform the Active Test with the engine speed at 1500 rpm.
