Removal [01/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [01/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [06/2019 - 05/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [05/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSS MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [01/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [06/2019 - 05/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [05/2023 - ]

  5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to REPLACEMENT [01/2017 - ]

  6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PCV HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 PCV hose from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 
    1. Pull out the pin of the No. 1 air cleaner inlet and remove it from the air cleaner with air cleaner hose.
      NOTE:

      When removing the No. 1 air cleaner inlet, be careful not to lose the air cleaner support on the underside of the No. 1 air cleaner inlet.

      Pull Out
  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp.
    3. Pull out the 3 air cleaner with air cleaner hose pins from the air cleaner support.

      NOTE:

      When removing the air cleaner with air cleaner hose, be careful not to lose the air cleaner support on the underside of the air cleaner assembly.

    4. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner with air cleaner hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.
  9. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the 4 clamps to disconnect the motor cable and generator cable.

    2. Remove the nut to disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose assembly.

  10. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and throttle body bracket.

  11. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and throttle body with motor assembly from the intake air surge tank assembly.
      NOTE:

      If the throttle body with motor assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. Slide the 2 clips, disconnect the water by-pass hose and No. 4 water by-pass hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.

    4. Remove the gasket from the intake air surge tank assembly.
