Removal [10/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Standard) 
    1. Push the release hook knob to remove the mechanical key as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, pry apart the transmitter housing cover.

      NOTE:

      Do not use excessive force when prying apart the transmitter housing cover.

    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the transmitter battery as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Do not push the terminals with your finger.
      • Do not forcibly pry up the transmitter battery as the terminals may be damaged.
      • Do not touch the transmitter battery with wet hands. Moisture may cause rust.
      • Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter. It may interfere with proper operation.
      • When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly from being damaged.

  2. REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY HOUSING(CARD KEY) COVER (for Card Type) 
    1. Lightly hold and pull the transmitter battery housing(card key) cover out.

      NOTE:

      Do not insert a screwdriver, etc. between the electrical key(card key) transmitter sub-assembly and transmitter battery housing(card key) cover and forcefully bend the transmitter battery housing(card key) cover. This will deform the transmitter battery housing(card key) cover.

      HINT: 

      • If the transmitter battery housing(card key) cover is held too firmly, it becomes harder to pull out.
      • If the transmitter battery housing(card key) cover is slippery and it is difficult to pull it out, use non-slip gloves to pull the transmitter battery housing(card key) cover out.
  3. REMOVE TRANSMITTER(CARD KEY) BATTERY (for Card Type) 
    1. Remove the transmitter(card key) battery.

      NOTE:

      When replacing the transmitter(card key) battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical key(card key) transmitter sub-assembly from being damaged.
