Installation [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Standard) 
    1. Install a transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2032) with the positive (+) side facing upward as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Be sure that the positive (+) and negative (-) sides of the transmitter battery are matched correctly.
      • Do not to bend the electrodes while installing the transmitter battery.
      • Keep the interior of the transmitter housing case free of dust, water and oil.
      • When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical transmitter from being damaged.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Install the transmitter housing cover by pressing down on it as shown in the illustration.

    3. Insert the mechanical key as shown in the illustration.

    4. Press one of the transmitter switches and check that the LED illuminates.
  2. INSTALL TRANSMITTER (CARD KEY) BATTERY (for Card Type) 
    1. Push in and install the transmitter (card key) battery (lithium battery: CR2412) while being careful of the following: 1) the orientation of the transmitter (card key) battery positive (+) and negative (-) terminals; and 2) being sure to insert the transmitter (card key) battery between the 2 terminals and deep into the card in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Insert the transmitter (card key) battery so that its positive (+) side is facing the LEXUS mark.
      • Do not deform the terminals.
      • If the terminals are dirty, wipe the terminals with a soft cloth before installing the transmitter (card key) battery.

      HINT: 

      Check if the card terminals are damaged or if the card interior has foreign matter.

    2. Install the battery cover so that it clips onto the transmitter housing case as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Push on the battery cover until its attachment hooks attach securely.
      • When the battery cover is removed and installed many times, be careful as the battery cover may become loose.
