General Maintenance [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STEERING LINKAGE 
    1. Check the steering wheel free play (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 ).
    2. Check the steering linkage for looseness or damage.
      1. Check that the tie rod ends do not have excessive play.
      2. Check that the dust seals and boots are not damaged.
      3. Check that the boot clamps are not loose.
      4. Check that the steering gear housing is not damaged.
  2. INSPECT STEERING GEAR BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. INSPECT BALL JOINT AND DUST COVER 
    1. Inspect the front suspension upper arm assembly (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2015 - ] ).
    2. Inspect the front suspension lower arm assembly (Refer to INSPECTION [09/2015 - ] ).
  4. INSPECT DRIVE SHAFT BOOTS 
    1. Check the drive shaft boots for loose clamps, grease leakage, kinks or damage.
  5. INSPECT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID 
    1. Visually check the transmission for fluid leakage. If fluid is leaking, find the cause and repair it.
  6. REPLACE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID 
    1. Replace the automatic transmission fluid (Refer to REPLACEMENT [09/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to REPLACEMENT [08/2020 - ] )
  7. INSPECT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLER HOSE AND CONNECTIONS 
    1. Check the automatic transmission fluid cooler hoses (oil cooler hoses) for cracks, leakage, loose connections and deformation.
  8. INSPECT TRANSFER OIL 
    1. Inspect the transfer oil (Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [09/2015 - ] ).
    2. Replace the transfer oil as necessary (Refer to REPLACEMENT [09/2015 - ] ).
  9. INSPECT FRONT DIFFERENTIAL OIL 
    1. Check the front differential oil level (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 ).
  10. REPLACE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL OIL 
    1. Replace the front differential oil (Refer to REPLACEMENT [09/2015 - ] ).
  11. INSPECT REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL 
    1. Check the rear differential oil level (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 ).
  12. REPLACE REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL 
    1. Replace the rear differential oil (Refer to REPLACEMENT [09/2015 - ] ).
  13. REPLACE ACTIVE HEIGHT CONTROL SUSPENSION FLUID 
    1. Discharge the suspension fluid pressure (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 ).
    2. Fill the reservoir tank with the suspension fluid (Refer to BLEEDING [09/2015 - ] ).
  14. INSPECT SUSPENSION CONTROL ACCUMULATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the front suspension control accumulator assembly (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 ).
    2. Inspect the rear suspension control accumulator assembly (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 ).
  15. LUBRICATE PROPELLER SHAFT AND TIGHTEN BOLTS 
    1. Lubricate the propeller shaft by referring to the lubrication chart. Before pumping in grease, wipe off any mud and dust on the grease fitting.

    2. Tighten the bolts of the propeller shaft.

  16. TIRE ROTATION 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
