Removal [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - 09/2016] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2016 - 09/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2017 - 05/2019] , or refer to PRECAUTION [05/2019 - ]

  2. REMOVE NO. 3 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [10/2014 - 09/2015], or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2015 - 09/2017], or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2017 - 05/2019], or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [05/2019 - ]

  3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [10/2014 - 09/2015], or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [09/2015 - 09/2017], or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [09/2017 - 05/2019], or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [05/2019 - ]

  4. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [10/2014 - 09/2015], or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [09/2015 - 09/2017], or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [09/2017 - 05/2019], or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [05/2019 - ]

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2014 - 09/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2017 - 05/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [05/2019 - ]

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE 

    See step  3

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the air cleaner filter element sub-assembly from the air cleaner case sub-assembly.
  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE ECM 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness from the No. 2 ECM bracket.

      Disengage the lock, pull down the lever and disconnect the 2 connectors from the ECM.

      NOTE:

      After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the connectors.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and ECM.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and the No. 1 ECM bracket from the ECM.

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and the No. 2 ECM bracket from the ECM.
