Operation Check [09/2014 - ]

  1. CHECK WINDOW LOCK FUNCTION 

    HINT: 

    Before performing the window lock switch operation check, make sure that the window lock switch is off (the indicator is not illuminated).

    1. When the window lock switch of the multiplex network master switch assembly is pushed: Check that the driver door power window and front passenger door power window are disabled.

      OK

      Driver door power window and front passenger door power window are disabled.

    2. When the window lock switch is pushed again: Check that the front passenger door power window can be operated normally.

      OK

      Front passenger door power window operates normally.

  2. CHECK MANUAL UP / DOWN FUNCTION 
    1. Check that the driver door power window operates as follows:
      OK

      Condition Master Switch Switch Operation Power Window
      • Engine switch on (IG)
      • Window lock switch off
      Driver door Pulled halfway up Up (Closes)
      Pushed halfway down Down (Opens)
    2. Check that the front passenger door power window operates as follows:
      OK

      Condition Regulator Switch Switch Operation Power Window
      • Engine switch on (IG)
      • Window lock switch off
      Front passenger door Pulled halfway up Up (Closes)
      Pushed halfway down Down (Opens)
  3. CHECK AUTO UP / DOWN FUNCTION 
    1. Check that the driver door power window operates as follows:
      OK

      Condition Master Switch Switch Operation Power Window
      • Engine switch on (IG)
      • Window lock switch off
      Driver door Pulled up (One touch operation) Auto up (Closes)
      Pushed down (One touch operation) Auto down (Opens)
    2. Check that the front passenger door power window operates as follows:
      OK

      Condition Regulator Switch Switch Operation Power Window
      • Engine switch on (IG)
      • Window lock switch off
      Front passenger door Pulled up (One touch operation) Auto up (Closes)
      Pushed down (One touch operation) Auto down (Opens)
  4. CHECK REMOTE MANUAL UP / DOWN FUNCTION 
    1. Check that the front passenger door power window operates as follows:
      OK

      Condition Master Switch Switch Operation Power Window
      • Engine switch on (IG)
      • Window lock switch off
      Front passenger door Pulled halfway up Up (Closes)
      Pushed halfway down Down (Opens)
  5. CHECK REMOTE AUTO UP / DOWN FUNCTION 
    1. Check that the front passenger door power window operates as follows:
      OK

      Condition Master Switch Switch Operation Power Window
      • Engine switch on (IG)
      • Window lock switch off
      Front passenger door Pulled up (One touch operation) Auto Up (Closes)
      Pushed down (One touch operation) Auto Down (Opens)
  6. CHECK KEY-OFF OPERATION FUNCTION 
    1. Check that each power window can be operated with the multiplex network master switch assembly or power window regulator switch assembly after the engine switch is turned off.

      HINT: 

      If the window lock switch is on, the front passenger door power window cannot be operated by using the power window regulator switch assembly. Therefore, turn the window lock switch off before checking the window operation.

    2. Check that the key-off operation function does not operate immediately after the driver door or front passenger door is opened.

      HINT: 

      If a power window is being operated by auto operation while the key-off operation function is on, and the driver door or front passenger door is opened, the power window will stop operating.

    3. Check that all of the power windows cannot be operated after more than approximately 43 seconds have elapsed since the engine switch was turned off.
  7. CHECK WIRELESS TRANSMITTER-LINKED FUNCTION* 
    1. *: This function is set through the customize setting, as it is off by default.
    1. Check that all power windows operate as follows when operating the electrical key transmitter:
      OK

      Condition Transmitter Operation Power Window
      No key is inside vehicle, and all doors are closed and locked UNLOCK switch pressed for more than 2.4 seconds Down (Opens)
      No key is inside vehicle, and all doors are closed and locked UNLOCK switch released Stop
  8. CHECK KEY-LINKED FUNCTION* 
    1. *: This function is set through the customize setting, as it is off by default.
    1. Check that all power windows operate as follows:
      OK

      Condition Door Key Cylinder Operation Power Window
      No key is inside vehicle, and all doors are closed Key is turned to the lock position and held for more than 1.5 seconds Up (Closes)
      No key is inside vehicle, and all doors are closed Returned to neutral position Stop
      No key is inside vehicle, and all doors are closed Key is turned to the unlock position and held for more than 1.5 seconds Down (Opens)
      No key is inside vehicle, and all doors are closed Returned to neutral position Stop
  9. CHECK WINDOW OPEN WARNING FUNCTION 
    NOTE:

    Check that the customize setting 'Window Open Warning' is set to 'ON' before performing the following procedure.

    Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [09/2014 - ] 

    1. If the warning start conditions are met, check that the warning buzzer in the combination meter assembly sounds and 'Window opened' is displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly.
      1. Warning start condition

        When either of the following conditions is met, the warning starts. 

        • With the engine switch off, the driver door closed and any power window open*1, the driver door is opened.
        • With the engine switch on, the driver door open and any power window open*2, the engine switch is turned off.
          1. *1: If the driver door power window is between the fully closed position and door-linked window control open position, it is judged as fully closed.
          2. *2: When a door is open, if the power window is in the door-linked window control open position, it is judged as fully closed.
    2. Check that 'Window opened' is no longer displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly if the warning stop conditions are met while the warning is operating. The warning buzzer stops sounding after the current cycle is finished.
      1. Warning stop condition

        When any of the following conditions is met, the warning stops. 

        • All of the power windows are fully closed.*
        • The engine switch is turned on.
        • The driver door is closed.
        • 30 seconds have elapsed since the warning buzzer started to sound.
          1. *: When a door is open, if the power window is in the door-linked window control open position, it is judged as fully closed.

        HINT: 

        In the following situations, 'Window opened' may stop being displayed immediately after the warning starts. This is not a malfunction.

        • With the engine switch on, all of the doors closed, the driver door power window closed and front passenger door power window between the fully closed position and door-linked window control open position, the engine switch is turned off (message not displayed), the driver door is opened (message displayed), then the front passenger door is opened immediately (message not displayed).

        • With the engine switch on, all of the doors closed and the front passenger door power window between the fully closed position and door-linked window control open position, the driver door is opened (message not displayed), the engine switch is turned off (message displayed), then the front passenger door is opened immediately (message not displayed).

  10. CHECK JAM PROTECTION FUNCTION 
    1. Check the basic function.
      WARNING:

      Do not put your fingers between the vehicle body and door glass to check the jam protection function. Also, prevent any part of your body from being caught during inspection.

      HINT: 

      The jam protection function is operative during both the auto up and manual up operations while the engine is running or the engine switch is on (IG), and also for approximately 43 seconds after the engine switch is turned off.

      1. Fully open the power window.
      2. Set a check jig wrapped with a piece of cloth near the power window fully closed position.

      3. Operate the auto up or manual up function and check that the power window stops and goes down after the check jig is caught between the door glass and roof side rail weatherstrip, and stops when the opening reaches approximately 135 mm (5.31 in.) (auto up function) or 35 mm (1.38 in.) (manual up function) or until approximately 5 seconds have elapsed.

        HINT: 

        • After the jam protection function has operated when an auto up or manual up operation was performed, the jam protection function will not operate if the manual up operation is performed again within approximately 4 seconds.
        • After the catch protection function has operated when an auto down or manual down operation was performed, the jam protection function will not operate if the manual up operation is performed within approximately 4 seconds.
      4. While the power window is moving down, check that the door glass cannot be raised using the power window switch.
  11. CHECK CATCH PROTECTION FUNCTION 
    1. Check the basic function.

      HINT: 

      The catch protection function is operative during both the auto down and manual down operations while the engine is running or the engine switch is on (IG), and also for approximately 43 seconds after the engine switch is turned off.

      1. Fully close all of the power windows.
      2. Operate the auto down or manual down function to open the power window, grasp the upper edge of the door glass with one or two hands and check that the power window stops.

        HINT: 

        After the catch protection function has operated when an auto down or manual down operation was performed, the catch protection function will not operate if the manual down operation is performed again within approximately 4 seconds.

  12. DOOR-LINKED WINDOW CONTROL 
    1. Open the driver door or front passenger door and check that the power window automatically moves down approximately 12 mm (0.472 in.).
    2. Close the driver door or front passenger door, and check that the power window automatically moves to the fully closed position.

      HINT: 

      The door-linked window control will not operate if a power window is open more than approximately 12 mm (0.472 in.). However, in consideration of the backlash of the door window regulator sub-assembly, if the power window is opened more than approximately 12 mm (0.472 in.) by the door-linked window control, and no other operations are performed, the power window will still automatically move to the fully closed position.

  13. CHECK POWER WINDOW SWITCH LED ILLUMINATION 
    1. Check the LED illumination (multiplex network master switch assembly).
      1. Check that the LEDs located in the multiplex network master switch assembly illuminate when the engine switch is turned on (IG).

    2. Check the LED illumination (power window regulator switch assembly).
      1. Check that the LED located in the power window regulator switch assembly illuminates when the engine switch is turned on (IG).
