On-Vehicle Inspection [09/2014 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Start the engine.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Turn the A/C switch on.
- Inspect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank1).
Powertrain > Engine > Active Test
Tester Display Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank1) - Check the engine speed while operating the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH using the Techstream.
Standard Condition
Control Range Specified Condition 0% Normal engine speed 100% Engine idles roughly or stalls If the operation is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH, wire harness and ECM.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank1).
- Inspect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank2).
Powertrain > Engine > Active Test
Tester Display Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank2) - Check the engine speed while operating the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH using the Techstream.
Standard Condition
Control Range Specified Condition 0% Normal engine speed 100% Engine idles roughly or stalls If the operation is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH, wire harness and ECM.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank2).
