Removal [09/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  4. REMOVE NO. 3 BRAKE TUBE CLAMP 

    See step  2

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  6. REMOVE CAM TIMING CONTROL MOTOR WITH EDU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly connector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and cam timing control motor with EDU assembly from the No. 2 timing gear cover assembly.
      NOTE:

      If the cam timing control motor with EDU assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  7. REMOVE CAM TIMING CONTROL MOTOR O-RING 
    1. Remove the cam timing control motor O-ring from the No. 2 timing gear cover assembly.
