Installation [10/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL SPARK PLUG 

    HINT: 

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a spark plug.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - 09/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2020 - ]

    1. Install the 6 spark plugs.

      Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf/cm, 13 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      If a spark plug has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      HINT: 

      Install the same parts to their original positions.

  2. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing an ignition coil assembly.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - 09/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2020 - ]

    1. Install the 6 ignition coil assemblies with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      If an ignition coil assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      HINT: 

      Install the same parts to their original positions.

    2. Connect the 6 ignition coil assembly connectors.
  3. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Connect the fuel pump assembly connector.
    2. Engage the clamp to connect the fuel tube sub-assembly.
    3. Connect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.
    4. Connect the engine wire to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

    5. Engage the 4 clamps.
    6. Engage the clamp to connect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly.
    7. Install the fuel hose clamp to the fuel tube connector.
    8. Engage the claw to close the cover of the fuel hose clamp.
    9. Connect the engine wire to the timing chain cover assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

    10. Connect the 2 camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly connectors and water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly connector.
    11. Engage the clamp.
  4. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  5. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

  6. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 104 [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 104 [09/2020 - ]

  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing an ignition coil assembly or spark plug.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - 09/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2020 - ]
