On-Vehicle Inspection [10/2017 - 09/2020]: Procedure
- INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.
Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - 09/2020]
- Read the value using the Techstream (Mass Air Flow Sensor).NOTE:
- Perform the inspection with the vehicle indoors and on a level surface.
- Perform the inspection of the mass air flow meter sub-assembly while it is installed to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly (installed to the vehicle).
- During the test, do not use an exhaust air duct on the exhaust pipe.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG) (do not start the engine).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Mass Air Flow Sensor.
Powertrain > Engine > Data List
Tester Display Mass Air Flow Sensor - Wait for 30 seconds, and read the value on the Techstream.
Standard Condition
Tester Display Condition Specified Condition Mass Air Flow Sensor - Engine not running
- 30 seconds after engine switch turned on (IG)
0.54 gm/sec or less If the result is not as specified, clean the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.

If the result is within the specified range, check the intake air temperature sensor (thermistor) resistance.

- Read the value using the Techstream (Mass Air Flow Sensor).
