Removal [05/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [05/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  4. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  5. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  6. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSS MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  7. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSS MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER WITH ELEMENT ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28

  9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER WITH ELEMENT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29

  10. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PCV HOSE 

    See step  6

  11. DISCONNECT NO. 3 PCV HOSE 

    See step  7

  12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 

    See step  8

  13. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  14. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SOUND CREATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  16. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  17. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR WITH EDU ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly LH from the timing chain cover assembly.

      NOTE:

      If the camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly LH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the timing chain cover assembly.
  18. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR WITH EDU ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly RH from the timing chain cover assembly.

      NOTE:

      If the camshaft timing control motor with EDU assembly RH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the timing chain cover assembly.
