Installation [09/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Standard Type) 
    1. Install a new transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2032) with the positive (+) side facing upward, as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Do not bend the transmitter battery electrode during installation.
      • Keep the inside of the transmitter housing cover interior free of dust and oil.
      • When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical transmitter from being damaged.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Install the transmitter housing cover by pressing down on it as shown in the illustration.

    3. Insert the mechanical key into the transmitter.

    4. Press one of the transmitter switches and check that the LED illuminates.

      OK

      Transmitter LED illuminates when a switch is pressed.

  2. INSTALL TRANSMITTER (CARD KEY) BATTERY (for Card Type) 
    1. Push in and install the transmitter (card key) battery (lithium battery: CR2412) while being careful of the following: 1) the orientation of the transmitter (card key) battery positive (+) and negative (-) terminals; and 2) being sure to insert the transmitter (card key) battery between the 2 terminals and deep into the card in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
      NOTE:
      • Insert the transmitter (card key) battery so that its positive (+) side is facing the LEXUS mark.
      • Do not deform the terminals.
      • If the terminals are dirty, wipe the terminals with a soft cloth before installing the transmitter (card key) battery.
      • When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical transmitter from being damaged.

      HINT: 

      Check if the card terminals are damaged or if the card interior has foreign matter.

  3. INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY HOUSING (CARD KEY) COVER (for Card Type) 
    1. Install the transmitter battery housing cover so that it clips onto the transmitter housing case as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
      NOTE:
      • Push on the transmitter battery housing cover until its attachment hooks attach securely.
      • When the transmitter battery housing cover is removed and installed many times, be careful as the transmitter battery housing cover may become loose.
