Inspection [12/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT NO. 1 HEIGHT CONTROL COMPRESSOR (EXHAUST VALVE)
    1. Measure the resistance of the exhaust valve.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

        Standard resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        L182-1 (L) - L182-2 (B) at 20°C (68°F) 9.36 to 10.14 Ω

        *a Component without harness connected
        (No. 1 Height Control Compressor)

        HINT:

If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 height control compressor.

    2. Check the exhaust valve operation.
      1. Apply battery voltage to each terminal and check the operation of the valve inside the solenoid.
        NOTE:

Do not operate the valve for 60 seconds or more.

        *a Component without harness connected
        (No. 1 Height Control Compressor)

        Standard

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → L182-1 (-)
        Battery negative (-) → L182-2 (+)
        Operates (operating sound heard)

        HINT:

If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 height control compressor.

  2. INSPECT HEIGHT CONTROL COMPRESSOR (COMPRESSOR MOTOR)
    1. Check the compressor operation.
      1. Apply battery voltage to each terminal and check the operation of the No. 1 height control compressor (compressor motor).

        Standard

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        Battery positive (+) → P10-1 (B)
        Battery negative (-) → P10-2 (E)
        Operates (operating sound heard)
        NOTE:
        • Do not operate the height control compressor for 60 seconds or more.
        • Since a short and a lock-up inside the height control compressor cause excessive current to flow, stop operation immediately when the compressor motor does not operate.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (No. 1 Height Control Compressor)
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.

        Standard resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        L181-1 (SMTI) - L181-2 (E1) at 20°C (68°F) 9.36 to 10.14 Ω
        L181-3 (SMSI) - L181-2 (E1) at 20°C (68°F) 9.36 to 10.14 Ω
        L183-1 (SMOS) - L183-2 (E2) at 20°C (68°F) 9.36 to 10.14 Ω
        L183-3 (SMTO) - L183-2 (E2) at 20°C (68°F) 9.36 to 10.14 Ω

        HINT:

If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 height control compressor.

    2. Apply battery voltage to each terminal and check the operation of the valve inside the solenoid.
      NOTE:

Do not operate the valve for 60 seconds or more.

      Standard
