Installation [12/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL NO. 3 HEIGHT CONTROL VALVE 
    1. Install the 4 height control valve cushions.

    2. Cut the tip of the No. 3 height control valve cushion (A).

      (A)

      Approximately 13 mm (0.512 in.) from end

    3. Install the 2 height control valve bushes.

      *1 Height Control Valve Bush
      No. 1 Height Control Compressor Side
    4. Install the No. 3 height control valve assembly and height control valve bracket with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf/cm, 48 in.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 HEIGHT CONTROL COMPRESSOR 
    1. Install the plate washer, collar, 5 height control compressor bushes and 5 height control compressor compression spring.

      *1 Plate Washer
      *2 Height Control Compressor Bush
      *3 Collar
      *4 Height Control Compressor Compression Spring
    2. Install the No. 1 height control compressor and No. 3 height control compressor bracket with the 3 nuts.

      Torque: 5.9 N.m (60 kgf/cm, 52 in.lbf) 

    3. Attach the claw to connect the connector.

      *a 90° or less
    4. Connect the 2 clamps.
    5. Connect with a cable tie.
    6. Cut the tip of the cable tie (A).

      (A)

      5 mm (0.197 in.) or less

  3. INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL VALVE HARNESS ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the 9 clamps to install the height control valve harness assembly.

    2. w/ Cable Tie:
      1. Connect with a cable tie.
      2. Cut the tip of the cable tie (A).

        (A)

        5 mm (0.197 in.) or less

    3. Connect the 2 clamps.

    4. Connect the 3 connectors.
  4. INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL WAY 
    1. Attach the claw to install the height control way to the compressor bracket.

  5. INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the height control hose assembly to the No. 1 height control compressor.

      *a 2 to 5 mm (Height Control Hose End)
      *b Paint Mark
      *c Height Control Way Range 45° or less
      *d Clamp Range 120° or less
    2. Secure the height control hose with a cable tie and cut the end (A).
      NOTE:

      Secure the cable tie just beyond the port protrusion on the compressor.

      Cable Tie Securing Position

      2 to 5 mm (0.0788 to 0.196 in.) (from end of height control hose)

      (A) 

      5 mm (0.197 in.) or less

    3. Connect the height control hose assembly to the height control way, and slide the clamp to secure it.
      NOTE:
      • The hose clamp claw position is within the range shown in the illustration.
      • The paint mark is positioned between the claws on the hose clamp.
  6. INSTALL NO. 1 HEIGHT CONTROL TUBE 
    1. Install the No. 1 height control tube to the w/o relay compressor and dryer assembly and No. 3 height control valve assembly.

      *b Black

      Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - ]

      NOTE:

      Replace the O-ring, plate and No. 2 connector with new ones.

  7. INSTALL NO. 2 HEIGHT CONTROL TUBE 
    1. Attach the clamp to the No. 3 height control valve assembly.

      *a Natural
      *b Black
    2. Install the No. 2 height control tube to the w/o relay compressor and dryer assembly and No. 3 height control valve assembly.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - ]

      NOTE:

      Replace the O-ring, plate and No. 2 connector with new ones.

  8. INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL COMPRESSOR BRACKET 
    1. Install the height control compressor bracket with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 19.1 N.m (195 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf) 

  9. INSTALL W/O RELAY COMPRESSOR & DRYER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the claw.

    2. Install the clip to the stud bolt.

      HINT: 

      Insert the clip until it contacts the body.

    3. Install the w/o relay compressor and dryer assembly with the 4 nuts.

      *1 Collar

      Torque: 19.1 N.m (195 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Before installing the w/o relay compressor and dryer assembly, check that collar has not fallen off.

    4. Connect the No. 5 height control tube.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - ]

      *2 No. 9 Height Control Tube
      NOTE:

      Replace the O-ring, plate and No. 2 connector with new ones.

    5. Connect the No. 9 height control tube.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - ]

      NOTE:

      Replace the O-ring, plate and No. 2 connector with new ones.

    6. Connect the height control hose to the height control way, and slide the clamp to secure it.

      NOTE:
      • Align the paint mark with the rib position and install.
      • The paint mark is positioned between the claws on the hose clamp.
    7. Connect the 2 connectors.

  10. AIR CHARGING 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - ]

    HINT: 

    • Make sure to use the nitrogen gas injector (SST) and adapter (SST).
    • Select an adapter (SST) that matches the standard of the nitrogen cylinder and install it.
    • The adapter (SST) is not required for JIS standard.
    • SST: 09761-50010 
    • SST: 09761-0504009761-0505009761-0506009761-05070 
  11. CHECK CONNECTIONS OF TUBES FOR AIR LEAKAGE 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [12/2017 - ]

  12. INSTALL NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  13. CHECK VEHICLE HEIGHT 
    NOTE:

    If the height control sensor link is removed, check the vehicle height.

    1. Change the height control switch from the "NORM" position to the "HIGH" position and back to the "NORM" position again.
    2. Measure the vehicle height.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [12/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [10/2023 - ]

  14. ADJUST VEHICLE HEIGHT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2020 - 10/2023] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2023 - ]

    NOTE:

    If the height control sensor has been replaced, be sure to adjust the vehicle height.

  15. CHECK HEIGHT CHANGE OPERATION 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [12/2017 - ]
