Removal [05/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [05/2019 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  4. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. REMOVE BATTERY INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  6. REMOVE BATTERY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the intake mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp to disconnect the wire harness from the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.
    3. Detach the 2 clips, loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.
  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the air cleaner filter element sub-assembly.
  9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the 3 wire harness clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE ECM 
    1. Disengage the lock, pull down the lever and disconnect the 2 connectors from the ECM.

      *a Push
      *b Lock
      NOTE:

      After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the connectors.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and ECM.

      NOTE:

      Replace with a new part if it is dropped or if it receives a strong impact.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and No. 1 ECM bracket from the ECM.

  12. REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 ECM bracket from the ECM.
